Commenting on the launch of a coalition of Scottish voluntary, business and religious groups looking at the future of the constitutional settlement, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:
Willie Rennie MSP"It is important that the debate over Scotland's future draws on the knowledge and expertise of the broadest range of Scottish society.
"This coalition stands with the Liberal Democrats and the majority of Scots who want more powers for the Scottish Parliament in the years ahead.
"It is vital, however, that we do not let Alex Salmond and the SNP dictate the terms of this process so caution is required.
"The First Minister is crafty. He is trying to drive a wedge between those who reject independence but want more powers for Scotland within the UK by offering false hope on a second question that simply does not work.
"We know the First Minister will stop at nothing to win. We must resist his attempts to manipulate the debate to further his independence obsession."
