Commenting on the Scottish Government's renewable energy framework consultation published today, Liberal Democrat Energy spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP said:

"The consultation acknowledges that the Scottish Government needs to 'work effectively in a UK and EU context'.

"The industry has sent a clear message to the Scottish Government, with Scottish Renewables describing cooperation with the UK Government as 'vital'.

"Collaboration does not come naturally to this First Minister, but he must swallow his natural confrontational urge for the sake of the renewables industry in Scotland."
